Whatever social network you’re trying to use, sharing information that is not of high quality can only harm you. I’ve experienced this lesson the hard way since when I am lazy and share information that is not worth sharing, my social media traffic decreases.

Why? Most people think that all the content you share is of mediocre quality even though it’s not. If your content is consistently good, people will look at your posts with anticipation and go through them.

Use the 80/20 rule.

If you make an update via Twitter or Facebook post, you can decide where to put your link. I usually put my links at the end of my updates because it’s more convenient. However, it doesn’t always result in the highest number of clicks.

It is evident in the above heat map that links are around half of the status update, particularly on Twitter, are likely to get the highest number of clicks.

The next time you compose an update on Twitter, the next time you write a Twitter update, you don’t need to include an URL at the end of your tweet. Instead, include it after the quarter-mark.

Do not post anything on Facebook unless you post photos.

Similar to Twitter, Facebook users love images. Facebook users like images to the point that Facebook status updates with images get 104 percent more comments and 54% more shares, and 84 percent more click-throughs.

What’s more intriguing is that when you incorporate an action call-to-action in your image, you can expect an increase of 14 percent in the click-through rate.

Additionally, use the hexadecimal color #4c66a4 in your photos or use colors such as white and grey that Facebook utilizes. You’ll be able to see your click-throughs increase by 16% and 28 percent.

Do not forget to use hashtags.

On other platforms, such as Facebook, on Facebook, you can compose paragraphs.

But, I’ve noticed that updates with shorter lengths tend to receive the most clicks. For instance, I’ve tried updates on Facebook which are paragraph-length and found that click-through rates for the updates are about two to six times lower when compared to updates of just one sentence lengthy and about 40 characters long.

What should you do? Try all the methods and develop your own. This will allow you to increase the number of clicks you get.

It is essential to keep your eyes on how social media platforms evolve in time. Therefore, you need to adjust and try out new strategies constantly. In the absence of doing so, it can cause your click-through rate to fall.
