‘Nolo Beer’ sales on cloud nine

Recent report by Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) states that sales of no or low alcohol beer have sky rocketed since the year 2016. There is an astonishing rise of 30% in the sales, as people mostly aged 18 – 24 are consuming it extensively as these beer or drinks of such kind are considered healthier compared with conventional alcoholic drinks.  These ‘nolo’ alcohol is definitely among the raging trends of 2020. The report also state that there has been a fall in the number of people consuming traditional alcohol and rise in people who consume drinks with alcohol percentage lower than 6.

The findings in report also showcase the changes in current market as there has been drastic drop in age old beer sales.  The reason behind this is obvious that young people below age of 35 are more-keen in taking these nolo beer as it can be accompanied with meals on any regular days and increasing consciousness about mental and physical health.

As per reports, there is also an increase in the number of people who never drink alcohol. It further states that increase in such beers will surely give an impetus to small independent brewers as it is extremely difficult to cater young generation, that too on constant basis.

On comparative note, few of the world’s biggest brewers have seized this opportunity as Johnnie Walker-owner Diageo has come up with its non-alcoholic spirit ‘Seedlip’, on parallel Budweiser owner Anheuser-Busch InBev and Heineken have numerous low-alcohol beers already in the market.
